Movie Theater Business Plan

March 3, 2023 By JamesCall Leave a Comment

Movie Theater Business Plan

Falls River is a smaller town that lost its only movie theatre over 10 years ago. Residents can now drive approximately 30 miles to see a movie. The theatre is usually a mega-plex of antiseptics, devoid of any character once they arrive.

Falls River Theatre will bring Falls River residents a long-awaited local movie theatre. The second run of most popular films in two markets will be shown: young adults as well as families. The building that will house the facility is the historic old theatre building, built in 1936 and long-time home to the town’s acting companies. It has been used for community functions only since its closure. The building’s owners will restore it to its former glory before the grand reopening.

The two owners, Samantha Farmer and Steve Brinksman have the skills, expertise and capital to make this theatre succeed. Samantha has managed large movie houses for seven-years. She has developed skills in theatre management, movie selection, and established important relationships in the industry. Steve is able to renovate and update the building to make it comfortable and welcoming.

With an substantial initial investment by the owners, we see modest profits by year two.

1.1 Keys for Success

  • Proper film selection for the audience and the theater’s environment.
  • Revenues can be derived from a mixture of traditional movie fare, as well quality snacks and drinks.
  • Careful management of internal finances to control costs.
  • Great customer service.

1.2 Objectives

  • The first year saw healthy sales, and the number of customers increased by more than two-thirds in the second year.
  • Concessions provide excellent revenue.
  • By year 2, modest but stable profit margin

1.3 Mission

Falls River Theatre’s mission is to provide a small-town entertainment experience with big city flair in a small community. Our customers will enjoy comfort and high-quality presentation of second-run films, all within a quick drive or walk from home. Falls River residents cannot live without this convenient service since the loss of the local theatre eleven-years ago.

We are here to please the local community. We will also provide our customers with satisfying and reasonably priced snack foods and beverages.
