New Look plans to strengthen its position as a retail men&#8217s clothing business and become a manufacturer of upscale clothing for men aged between 20- 40. New Look develops the clothing and supports it through advertising and promotion campaigns. The company intends to increase brand awareness and strengthen its partnership with retailers. New Look will market the line as an option to existing lines of clothing and distinguish itself through exclusive marketing strategies, high brand awareness and high branding.

The key message associated with the New Look line is classy, upscale, versatile, and expensive clothing. The company has a diverse promotional plan that includes multiple marketing communications. The company hopes to offer accessories for both men and women. These accessories will include jewelry, perfume, eyewear, watches and cologne/perfume.

Solution

New Look not only develops the clothing line, but supports it with advertising and promotion campaigns. The company will increase brand awareness to strengthen its partnership and partner with retailers.

Market

Our customers consist of males between the ages 20 and 40 who have a disposable income. Customers come from a variety of backgrounds and there are no restrictions on color. New Look customers are versatile men who can adapt to any environment and are willing to pay high quality clothing.

Competition

Companies are reorganizing to make them more efficient and to adopt new technologies. The industry has witnessed consolidation over the last few decades as larger companies have more market power and are able to cut costs. In the apparel industry, companies can operate as retailers or manufacturers (wholesalers) or both. Gap, Inc., for example, is a vertical retailer that manufactures and markets its own apparel and accessories. VG Corporation is a company that manufactures and sells exclusively to retail channels. A company like Tommy Hilfiger does both, selling its products to both retailers and consumers (through retail outlets).

We offer a unique alternative to established clothing lines. Our lines are unique, so your coworkers and other fashion-conscious friends won’t be able to buy the same thing. Because we are so aware of the latest trends and brands, your friends will envy you because you were the first to find them.

We are looking to expand the design lines of our company so our owner will invest $65,000. We are also looking for a $115,000 loan to fund our business. Both of these loans will be repaid by the second year, based on our existing customer base and relationships.
